An experiential learning experience to mobilize youth voices in public spaces through argumentation and critical thinking skills.


HumRaahi Roadshow is a month-long weekend training and development project by OpenMic Pakistan. It is designed to mobilize public spaces to become safe spaces for youth by conducting dialogue sessions that raise awareness, improve debating and argumentation skills and promote critical thinking amongst youth.

The program is comprised of two modules:

Module 1 happening each Saturday for a month, will take place in a different public location where the participants will be trained in the first weekend and engaged in debating matches for the remaining three weekends.

Module 2 will comprise of a capstone project where the participants will have to launch a dialogue activity in their academic institute, neighbourhood, or community. 

Saturday 01 - Training Module

The first Saturday will be a training module on Argumentation & Critical Thinking at a Coworking space.

Saturday 02 - Debate Match I

The second week will be held at a Community Center which will be a three-vs-three debate on Active Youth Citizenship. 

Saturday 03 - Dialogue Circle

The third week will be a Dialogue Circle at a Dhaba/Park for Building Safe Communal Spaces.  

Saturday 04 - Debate Match II

The fourth week will be held at an Academic Institute for another three-vs-three debate on Combating extremism. 

Capstone Project

The following weeks will be comprised of the capstone project that will span a month at at various places in your community in which participants will be to kickstart a dialogue activity, project, or community in their academic institute, neighbourhood, or community.  

HumRaahi Roadshow Cohort 1 Timeline

The HumRaahi Roadshow will have two modules, each spanning a month with a Saturday engagement only. After the completion of first module, participants will launch their projects.

HumRaahi Roadshow kickstarts with its first Saturday training on argumentation, critical thinking and research skills. 


- Applicants must have a parliamentary debating team of 3 - 5 members 
- Applicants should be between the age of 15-25 years
- Applicants must be a part of Student Clubs and/or Student Councils in their institutes and/or communities
- Applicants should be residents of Karachi
- Applicants must be an active volunteer or have volunteered in their communities/clubs
- Applicants must be committed to launch a community dialogue activity at the end of Module 1
- Beginner level debaters are also encouraged to apply
- All genders are encouraged to apply 

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! HumRaahi Roadshow is a training program so we would love to help beginners improve their argumentation skills and become active in the circuit. 

As a participant, it is mandatory for you to attend all Saturday sessions spanning over a month, and launch a dialogue activity within two to three weeks after the completion of Module 1.

We will be reaching out to the successful participants within two weeks of their application submission time. 

Yes! Full attendance is mandatory for every participant. In case you cannot make it to any weekend session, you must arrange an alternative debater or a substitute in your place for that session. 

You can apply for the program only if you are committed to create to launch your dialogue activity at the end of Module 1
